About the Event

The Great Lakes Center for Autism Treatment and Research (GLC) will host the 13th annual Youth Hockey Fights for Kids with Autism event at Wings West Ice Arena on Saturday, January 25 in collaboration with the Kalamazoo Optimist Hockey Association (KOHA) and the South-Central High School Hockey League (SCHSHL).

Over the past years, this event has raised nearly $130,000 to support Autism efforts. The money raised assists families with their out-of-pocket expenses accrued for the evidenced-based therapy recommended for their child(ren) diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder as well as critical program materials. Both are essential for the individuals to reach their full potential leading an independent and vibrant life.

Approximately 300 hockey players from kindergarten through college will be playing throughout the event to raise funds and increase autism acceptance in our community.
